If you’re looking for something that prints easily in an enclosed chamber like Nylon, yet withstands temperatures higher than ULTEM 9085, look no further! The new HTN+CF is a high-performance, high-temperature PPA nylon blended with carbon fiber, perfect for making anything from jigs and fixtures to under-the-hood car parts and even vacuum molds!
We highly recommend drying this filament to extend its life and usability. Dry it every time you print or if it’s been sitting out for more than 10 minutes. This filament absorbs moisture quickly, and even a small amount of moisture can ruin the printing process by turning into steam during printing, leading to poor print quality and mechanical properties.
Drying Method: We sell a full drying kit used in our shop.
Temperature and Duration: Generally, dry at 120°C for 4-12 hours. We keep an oven at 120°C 24/7, putting filament in when it’s done and pulling it when needed, but never leave it for more than 24 hours. Overbaking can make filaments brittle.
Spool Considerations: We offer metal spools to prevent melting during drying, as most polymer spools can’t withstand the high temperatures required for drying.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure optimal performance and longevity of your HTN+CF filament, making your 3D printing projects successful and reliable. Check out our drying kits and metal spools on our website for more details.
