¶ ThermaX PEEK 3D Filament: Specifications and Usage Guide
ThermaX PEEK, made with polyether ether ketone, is one of the highest-performance materials available. Designed to withstand ultra-strong, ultra-hot environmental factors, ThermaX PEEK is ideal for medical, automotive, aerospace, and many other applications.
Automotive: Self-lubricating and strong, ideal for weight reduction in high-contact environments. Used for under-the-hood piston units, seals, washers, bearings, and even exhaust pipes in Formula 1.
Aerospace: High temperature and erosive strength make it suitable for fluid transport, load-bearing brackets, P clamps, and internal cabin components.
Healthcare: Highly sterilizable and biocompatible, PEEK is used for invasive tools and implants. It can withstand up to 3,000 autoclave sterilization cycles at 134°C while maintaining mechanical strength, stress cracking resistance, and hydrolytic stability.
Electronics: Excellent insulator with surface resistance and static dissipation capacity.
To extend the life and usability of your filament, it is essential to dry it properly.
Frequency: Dry every time you print or if the filament has been sitting out for more than 10 minutes.
Drying Temperature and Time: Generally, dry at 120°C for 4-12 hours. Ensure the drying time is less than 24 hours to avoid brittleness.
Storage: Use metal spools to prevent melting during the drying process.
We offer a full drying kit that we use in our shop, including vacuum chambers and ovens. This kit ensures you can dry your filament as effectively as we do. Check it out on our website.
By following these guidelines, you can achieve optimal results with ThermaX PEEK filament, ensuring high performance in your applications.
