If your 22 IDEX is unresponsive after a firmware update, shows no lights inside, or you have been instructed by the support team to perform a manual firmware update, this guide will walk you through the process. This procedure involves manually updating the mainboard firmware using Bossa software.
This method has been tested with the Vision Miner 22 IDEX v3 printer. There is no guarantee that it will work with v2 printers.
Tools and Materials:
- USB-C cable (included with the machine)
- Computer
- Firmware files (download link provided below)
- Bossa software for firmware flashing
Safety Precautions:
- Ensure the machine is powered off and disconnected from the power source throughout the process.
- Verify that no main voltage is present in the machine.
- Turn Off and Disconnect:
- Turn off the machine and unplug the power cord. Ensure no power is reaching the machine during the entire process.
¶ 2. Download and Install Firmware and Software
Firmware:
Bossa Software:
Erase the Firmware:
- Locate the erase jumper on the mainboard (refer to the picture below).
- Jump to erase the current firmware.
Connect the Machine:
- Use the USB-C cable to connect the machine to the computer.
- Verify that the 5V (Red) and 3.3V (Green) LEDs are on.
Remove the Erase Jumper:
- After a few seconds, remove the erase jumper.
- Press the Reset button to restart the board.
Open Bossa:
- Launch the Bossa software. It should automatically detect the correct COM port.
- If COM port was not detected, find it in port viewer.
Settings:
- Check the boxes for
Erase all
, Lock
and Boot to flash
.
Select Firmware File:
- Browse to the firmware binary file from the downloaded firmware:
22IDEX Firmware
> firmware
> Duet3Firmware_MB6HC.bin

Write Firmware:
- Press
Write
to upload the firmware to the mainboard.
- Once completed, press
Verify
to confirm the firmware was successfully written.
- Disconnect and Restart:
- Disconnect the USB cable from the mainboard.
- Reconnect the power cord and power on the machine.
